This is a large addition to a small, single wall constructed house built in the 40’s. Having a portion of the existing single family home in the flood zone made taking it down and starting over with a new home a monumental task given the new SMA rules. Conception and plans were a collaboration between the owners, AGT, and Fritz Johnson Architects. We couldn’t be happier with the results and this stunning addition is going to be the forever home for a beautiful family. The interior design, colors, hardware selections, paint, etc. were all chosen by the owners, whose taste and sense of place are impeccable. It also made our job much easier as we had the complete vision and material selections were made early enough that this project ran all the way through very smoothly. We had a solid working budget on a cost plus contract basis to start, and with the help of the owners, we looking to finish about 10% under budget.
